BIOGRAPHY:

 

Hypoxia is a New York City based death metal band influenced by groups such as Sepultura, Death, Vader, Sinister, Suffocation, and more. The band was founded in 2009 by drummer Carolina Perez and guitarist Carlos Arboleda.

In 2011, Hypoxia recorded their first demo, “The Purge,” which quickly made them a name in the NYC metal underground. A follow-up album called “Public Execution” was released in 2013 and brought further attention to the project. After Mike Hrubovcak (Vile, Monstrosity) stepped up on vocals in 2015, the band signed with Ultimate Massacre Productions and released their second full­ length album entitled “Despondent Death,” which became the band's most crushing release to date.

Hypoxia is well known for their energetic and aggressive live shows. They have shared the stage with bands such as Obituary, Onslaught, Razor, Masacre (Colombia), Embalmer, Exumer, Malevolent Creation, Derketa, and more. The band is now working on their third  album which they plan to drop at late 2017. Prepare your eyes and ears for total death metal domination!
